Crime Against Men

I have an American friend who spent a night in jail simply for refusing to let his daughter attend a party. His daughter locked herself in her room, called 911, and falsely accused him of abuse, showing the police self-inflicted bruises as evidence.

When a crime is committed against a child, we call it child abuse or a crime against children. We have laws in place to protect their rights, along with civil society organizations advocating for their welfare and safety.

In another case, a college instructor was jailed for allegedly raping his girlfriend. However, the other side of the story reveals that he had been caught cheating. His two girlfriends conspired—one claimed to be the victim, while the other testified against him.

When a crime is committed against a woman, we classify it as a crime against women. Numerous laws protect women's rights, and many organizations actively fight for their welfare.

Similarly, when a crime is committed against a member of the LGBTQ+ community, it is often labeled as a hate crime, a gay crime, or a crime against the third gender. While not all crimes involving LGBTQ+ victims fall under this category, several advocacy groups work tirelessly to defend their rights.

However, when a crime is committed against a man, it is simply called a crime—without any specific designation, dedicated laws, or advocacy groups solely focused on protecting men’s rights. This disparity raises an important question: Are real men on the verge of extinction in today's society?

  4. @Dodong, don't be sad, it's not the end of the world yet... maybe in a few years, there will be specific laws for men.. hahaha

@Ming Meows, yeah, that's the tag line, my friend coined that... but i know he doesn't mind that because they belong to the same community of churches.

  5. yeah you're right.

bakit nga walang human rights for men?just plain human rights?

is it because men are born 'superior?' but we're no superheroes naman ah.pwede rin tayong maabuso.

bakit nga ba ano? walang groups advocating the rights of fathers, bachelors, or men in general?!

  7. the law has had a historical tendency to privilege the position of men and ignore the vulnerable position of children (especially) and institutionalized the vulnerability of women. i think constituting the problem as one regarding "real men" is epiphenomenal to the real issue which is -- why does the law privilege or subordinate an individual person based upon possible group membership without further inquiry.
