Teaching Myself Self-Discipline

I am a person who lacks discipline; the worst part is that I am not blind about it. I knew that discipline is the key.

I scanned the Bible regarding discipline and found out that whatever version of the Bible; it says discipline is not pleasant, joyful and enjoyable. It is something that I never wished to experience.
All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness. Hebrews 12:11 (New American Standard Bible)
No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. Hebrews 12:11 (New International Version)
No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way. Hebrews 12:11 (New Living Translation)
It is never fun to be corrected. In fact, at the time it is always painful. But if we learn to obey by being corrected, we will do right and live at peace. Hebrews 12:11 (Contemporary English Version)
Hoping to find something better, I looked for other perspective on discipline. It’s not getting any better but otherwise.

Self-discipline is the ability to get yourself to take action regardless of your emotional state.
Much of the things I did were mostly triggered by my emotions. I do things because I like doing them, mostly not because I need to do them.

I have to make a decision. A firm one.
